Daily tempering, deep frying and long simmering push hot, oil-laden air through the filters several times a day, and the grease that condenses inside the hood does not evaporate — it accumulates, hardens, and slowly chokes the airflow path the chimney depends on.
The symptom most people notice first is smoke lingering in the kitchen even with the chimney on full. That is rarely a dead motor. Far more often the baffle filters are saturated, the impeller blades are coated thickly enough to lose their bite, or the duct run has a partial blockage or a one-way valve stuck part-closed. A service that only rinses the filters and leaves will restore some suction for a few weeks and then the problem returns, because the actual restriction was never touched.

How often should a kitchen chimney be serviced?
For a household cooking Indian food daily, every three to six months. If the chimney has not been opened in over a year, book a deep clean rather than a standard service — saturated filters and a coated impeller need a full degrease, not a rinse.
My chimney suction has dropped but the motor still runs. What is wrong?
Usually the baffle filters are saturated, the impeller is heavily coated, or the duct run is partly blocked or has a one-way valve stuck part-closed. A motor fault is much less common than people expect. Our standard service checks all four.
Can you service an auto-clean chimney?
Yes. On auto-clean models we additionally check the water reservoir, spray nozzles and drain path for scale and blockage, which is what most auto-clean cycle failures come down to.
Do you replace chimney filters and motors?
Yes. Filters, motors, blowers, ducting and one-way valves can all be replaced. The technician diagnoses on site, shows you the price for the part and labour, and only proceeds once you approve it.
Do you service chimneys in apartments with long duct runs?
Yes, and the duct is part of the standard check. Flats in Bengaluru often run four to eight metres of ducting to an external wall or shaft, and a partial blockage or a one-way valve stuck part-closed in that run is a very common reason suction feels weak after an otherwise good service.

Baffle filters, mesh filters and oil collector cups can be bought from our spare parts store and delivered free anywhere we cover in Bengaluru. Motors, blowers and anything inside the hood are supplied for technician fitting, because the hood carries mains wiring directly above an open flame.
